How accurate is it, and can I measure a whole room by myself without a second person?
Yes — ±2mm accuracy up to 100ft/30m for precise solo readings. Point, press, done — no helper, no holding a tape end. It also calculates area and volume, so you know exactly how much flooring or paint to buy.
Does it need an app, phone, Bluetooth, or account to work?
No app, no account, no phone, no Bluetooth — ever. Turn it on, point, press, and the reading appears instantly on the backlit screen. Nothing to download, pair, or sign up for. It works straight out of the box.
Does it work outdoors or in bright sunlight?
It's built for indoor measuring — rooms, floors, walls, ceilings, basements, attics. Like all red-laser tools, the dot is hard to see in direct sun, so it works best indoors or in shade. The backlight keeps readings clear in dark spaces.
How is this better than a phone app or a regular tape measure?
A phone app guesses with its camera and needs the screen unlocked. A tape measure sags, kinks, and takes two hands past a few feet. The Ray fires a real laser beam instead — and it's pocket-size, so it's on your keychain the moment you need it.
What comes in the box — does it include a charger and cable?
Ships in a premium zero-plastic gift box with a keyring, wrist lanyard, user manual, quickstart guide, and a USB-C cable that charges from any USB plug or port you already have. Great to gift, and backed by product support from Cooper.
