The name Minoyaki itself references the Mino region where it originated, located in the present-day Gifu Prefecture with high concentrations of Minoyaki artisans in Toki City, Tajimi City, Mizunami City, Kani City. Today the Mino region still produces over 50% of the pottery made in Japan. In the rich and complex world of Japanese arts and aesthetics, Minoyaki is of great cultural value.
