That’s where the Fulton Veneer Scraper steps in. With its beveled edges and long hardwood handle, you’ll be able to work out every last air pocket or bubble all the while gaining maximum adhesion to your substrate!
- GET EXCELLENT ADHESION - The Fulton Veneer Scraper is designed to be used on veneer when it is bonded to a substrate using contact cement or PSA backed veneers. The basic idea with this simple but very useful and effective tool is that all of the leverage of your arm and hand force is concentrated at the tip of the tool. This focuses all the pressure to the wood veneer sheet or wood edge banding and allows you to gain excellent adhesion.
- RIGID NON FLEX MATERIAL - The scraper is made from a very rigid plastic material that doesn’t flex or give. This along with the beveled edges allows you to focus heavy pressure as needed on your veneer wood. The scraper measures approximately 3-11/16” wide by 2-1/16” tall.
- COMFORTABLE HARDWOOD HANDLE - The hardwood handle is approximately 11” long and approximately 5/8” thick. We have shaped the handle so its comfortably curved to fit into the palm of your hand. This makes it easy to grip and wont dig or tear into your hand while applying heavy pressure. The thick hardwood stands up to repeated, heavy pressure scrapes on project after project after project.
- VENEER SCRAPER BASICS - Starting from the center of your veneer, drag the scraper tool outward in the same direction of the wood grain. Make sure you are always going with the grain. Scraping across the grain will likely damage the veneer. Be sure to go over the entire veneer surface area to achieve the best possible bond with the adhesive. We recommend using the Fulton Veneer Scraper in conjunction with the Fulton Long Handle J Roller Pressure Tool (sold separately) for optimum results.
